What about "hands on" training? We are happy to help you in any way we can in this area, and have incorporated assignments specifically designed to help with this process. There are several training facilities that can offer you intensive experience in a clinic setting but this should not be considered a substitute for an apprenticeship. It is crucial to become a home birth midwife by being a home birth apprentice! We recommend that you attend workshops and conferences as well. Our Midwifery SkillsLabs offer a safe environment for learning new skills and attendance fulfills one of our optional requirements. In addition to our Midwifery SkillsLabs, our Clinical Director is launching a new field opportunity program which provides the opportunity to travel and assist women all over the world.
