Options

The following options are available as add-ons at time of enrollment:

Philomath 8 • $150/$250
($150 with enrollment. May be ordered up to one year after enrollment for $250.)

A Philomath is a “Lover of Learning.” This option is designed for the extremely serious student. The Philomath 8 student receives an initial package of additional study projects, quizzes, and study modules. These afford a far more in-depth study of many midwifery related topics. Additional packages are sent once a year. This option does not add requirements but offers more benefits and options, AND provides an additional 6 months enrollment, giving the student a full 4 years to complete Advanced Midwifery Studies.The fee for Philomath 8 is $150 if ordered with enrollment or $250 anytime in the first year of enrollment.
(Note that the normal fee for a one month extension is $60 or one year for $600 or 2 years for $1000.)

GREAT START • $350/$450
($350 with enrollment. May be ordered up to one year after enrollment for $450.)
GREAT START enrollees have an additional year to complete Advanced Midwifery Studies plus several other benefits.

* 1 year Extension (normally $600)
* Five Trust Birth Conference downloads (normally $75)
* AAMI's Midwifery SkillsLab $40 voucher ($40 reduction on MSL fee)
* 4 year Study Calendar (normally $16/$17)
* Fruit and Veggie AEU Project (normally $12)
* Fetoscope/FHT AEU Project (normally $12)).
* Time Tracking Starter Kit (normally $7)
* Precious Preborn ($12.50)
* Back issue of Mothering and Compleat Mother

The fee for Great Start is $350 if ordered with enrollment or $450 anytime in the first year of enrollment.
(Note that the normal fee for a one month extension is $60 or one year for $600 or 2 years for $1000.)

NARM FOCUS • $250/$300
($250 with enrollment. May be ordered after enrollment for $300.)

The purpose of the NARM FOCUS option is to help prepare our students for the written NARM test while completing Advanced Midwifery Studies. A passing score on the NARM written exam has often been achieved by our enrollees long before AAMI graduation. This brand new option is designed to help our enrollees who are CPM candidates prepare for the written test FIRST, but we do not want any student to choose the NARM Focus option unless she fully intends to complete the entire AMS course.

The NARM FOCUS option is only available for Advanced Midwifery Studies enrollees who have completed the AMS Orientation process.
The fee for the NARM Focus option is only $250/$300 and entitles the participant to:
* 6 month extension (normally $360)
* Access to VARNEY Study Questions
* 25 weeks of intensive preparation for the NARM written exam as part of a private email study group.
* $20 AAMI store voucher for providing proof of a passing score on the NARM written exam.
* 3 AEUS for completion of NARM FOCUS/ 1 additional AEU for proof of a passing score on the NARM written exam. The submission fee for AEUs is normally $5 per AEU but for those associated with the NARM Focus there are no AEU submission fees due.

Disclaimer: AAMI does not officially promote the NARM CPM credentialing process, or believe that the credential is equivalent to, or necessary for, superior midwifery practice. However, we fully support our enrollees who are working toward that or any other credential. We do not offer the NARM FOCUS to non-AAMI enrollees.
