There are three phases of enrollment before a student may begin submitting curriculum requirements. Phase 1 is the Enrollment Verification Phase. Once the application has been received and approved, the new enrollee is assigned a file number, AAMI email address, and we get to work for her immediately. The student receives several administrative and assignment emails containing proprietary information and is notified that her application has been approved and her enrollment is official, although her 39 months wont officially start for a while. The last step of the initial enrollment process is to mail the student the Enrollment Verification Pak, which she completes and returns to the director. Phase 2 is the Preliminary Phase After the verification forms and data has been processed, the Preliminary Pak is mailed by the Director. Now the clock is ticking. The student is assigned an ARD or Annual Report Date and a PCD or projected completion date. The PCD is 39 months from the date of mailing. We encourage students to complete the preparatory assignments in the Preliminary Pak within 3 months. The student is required to make a check in by phone or email when she receives the Preliminary Pak. When the student completes the required Preliminary assignments, she mails the Request for Curriculum Form. Phase 3 is the Orientation Phase It usually takes 4-6 weeks for the curriculum to arrive after the request is received but assignments and instructions are emailed to the student during that period. Once the curriculum is received a second check in is required and the student has begun the Orientation phase of enrollment. Again more email instructions are sent and the student starts work on the Orientation Assignments. We suggest that the student set a goal of completing Orientation within 3 or 4 months. No regular course assignments may be submitted until the Orientation Assignments have been received. Phase 4 is the Full Benefits Phase Once the student has completed and submitted her Orientation Assignments, she has full enrollment benefits and may begin submitting completed work immediately. When assignments are received they are reviewed and acknowledged and set aside for further review at the end of our academic quarter. At that time, students are notified of any problems with their work or commended for good work. The top students of that quarter are named to the Honor Roll and receive a certificate. It is not necessary to submit work on a regular basis, but we do contact students who are out of touch for a while to see if we can assist them in getting back on track. Enrollees are required to to make an addition check in before her first ARD. Extensions are inexpensive and easily earned. Some complimentary extensions are given for major moves, having a baby, or severe illness in the family. We never want a student to feel hopelessly behind because of unexpected events. We would always prefer the student take as many additional months as necessary rather than give up. We are committed to helping every student reach her goal.
Some terms unique to Ancient Art Midwifery Institute: ARD (Annual Report Date) Each student is assigned an annual report date when her curriculum is mailed. Annual Reports are due on or before this date every year. This is an extremely important date and never changes. PCD (Projected Completion Date) This date marks the end of the term of enrollment (usually 39 months from date Preliminary Pak is sent). PCD changes whenever extensions are granted. Enrollment Verification Pak (EV) The Enrollment Verification Pak includes some forms for the student to complete and return to AAMI. These forms give us more information to help us provide better service to each student. Preliminary Pak (PrePak) This is the second mailing. It must be requested by the student with a form included in the Enrollment Verification Pak. Several assignments are given to help the student prepare for the course work. Study Pak (aka System Works) This is the term for the curriculum and the instructions for the course. It comes in a binder entitled System Works. The Study Pak is the 3rd package we send to the student. The curriculum remains the property of Ancient Art Midwifery Institute. Orientation Orientation assignments are outlined in the Orientation Folder in System Works. These include some curriculum coordination and other assignments geared toward organization. Some of the work assigned in the Preliminary Pak is part of this submission. Associated Education Unit (AEU) We provide many opportunities for the student to document and receive credit for work beyond the basic curriculum. The number of AEUs a student earns determines the certificate upon graduation. Honor Roll Tiebreaker File/Opportunity Each student
has the option of entering contests and answering questions or
completing projects that have been designated as Tiebreaker Ops.
Most can be emailed to the director and then are forwarded to
the Academic Director. In any quarter where the student has submitted
course work, her Honor Roll Tiebreaker File will be taken into
consideration when she is being considered for the Honor Roll.
